                   A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE TEMPORARY
                   CLOSURE OF VARIOUS STREETS IN THE HIGHWAY 58
                   AREA, MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED HEREIN ON
                   SUNDAY, DECEMBER 6, 1992, WITH SUNDAY,
                   DECEMBER 13, 1992 BEING THE RAINOUT
                   ALTERNATIVE DATE FROM 1:00 P.M. UNTIL 4:00
                   P.M. FOR THE PRESENTATION OF THE "HIGHWAY 58
                   CHRISTMAS PARADE" SPONSORED BY THE 58
                   MERCHANT'S ASSOCIATION, UNDER CERTAIN
                   CONDITIONS.
                  
                  
                                                    
                  
                  
       	    	 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
       CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That there be and is authorized the
       temporary closing of three (3) eastbound traffic lanes nearest 
the
       south curb of Highway 58 between Shelborne Drive and Jersey Pike, 

       the temporary closing of Oakwood Drive between Highway 58 and
       Jersey Pike, the temporary closing of the northbound traffic lane 

       nearest the east curb of Innwood Lane between Highway 58 and
       Fairwood Lane and the temporary closing of Fairwood Lane between
       Innwood Lane and Shorewood Drive on Sunday, December 6, 1992, 
with
       Sunday, December 13, 1992 being the rainout alternative date, 
from
       1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. for the presentation of the "Highway 58
       Christmas Parade" sponsored by the 58 Merchant's Association
       provided that the sponsor shall set out traffic cones, flasher
       barricades and detour signs in accordance with the traffic 
control
       plan attached hereto and shall provide, at all times, an access
       lane for emergency vehicles.  The auxiliary police shall assist
       the Chattanooga Police Department in providing traffic and crowd
       control.
